Tulucay Farms is a full-service boarding and training facility with a variety of stabling options. Hunter/Jumper Trainers Brian and Melissa Gruber operate Tulucay Show Stables, Inc., out of the property as well as manage the farm and horse care. With over thirty combined years of experience training Hunter/Jumpers at the national level, Brian and Melissa work with horses and riders at every stage of their riding career and are happy to assist in any way possible with a variety of disciplines.
Tulucay Farms creates individual lesson programs for each horse and rider. Most lessons are private, one-on-one lessons unless Brian or Missy feel that riders can learn from each other in specific situations. All lessons are based on traditional horse training methods and geared towards performance in the show ring. Of course, not every rider chooses to horse show; the team at Tulucay believes by passing on a strong foundation to every rider based on confidence, horsemanship, and a good work ethic, both horse and rider will become successful through understanding each other.
Payment is due at the time of the lesson, unless you board at Tulucay Farm, in which case you may be billed monthly.
Quality horse care is the Tulucay team’s top priority. If additions to the basic care listed above are required, options are available to fit each horse’s needs.
Monthly packages provide full service care to those interested. This includes grooming and tack-up in preparation for lessons, as well as aftercare, for horses that are on stall board. Monthly grooming such as clipping and trimming, mane pulls, and therapies such as medications or icing are included as needed.
For those owners and riders who enjoy a more hands-on approach to their horses’ care, Tulucay offers an “a la carte” list of services to be billed out as needed.
Keeping the horses happy and healthy sometimes requires some extra effort. Tulucay works in full cooperation with the horse owner, veterinarian, and farrier to maintain each horse’s fitness and health. The team at the barn will provide additional services including (but not limited to) the following:
Tulucay Farm is 45 miles from UC Davis. In the event that a horse needs to ship, a trailer is available onsite and ready to load at a moment’s notice.
